Port Pirie is our half way point and pretty much the first time we’ll have seen any expanse of water since Darwin.
I’ve passed through Port Pirie a couple of times but not really spent much time there. Which I’m looking forward to rectifying.
It’s not a town that’s usually on the tourist trail, is it? If you’re from the area you’ll know what I mean.
I grew up in an industrial part of Scotland. So when I drive into Port Pirie and see your chimneys and slag heaps, there’ll be something that makes me feel at home. And towns like this usually have the best people you’ll ever meets can’t wait.
